Admission Requirements

  • BSc (or equivalent primary degree) well above average in Agricultural or ForestSciences, Geography, Political Sciences, Sociology, Law, Economics, Ethnology, International Cooperation, Development Studies, Nature Conservation, Environmental Management, Land Use Planning, Natural Resource Management .
  • Very good English language skills (TOEFL internet based 100 points, paper-based 600 points, computer-based 250 points, TOEFL code number 8692, TOEFL should not be older than 2 years; IELTS band 7)

 

Application deadline

May 15th of each year. The program begins in the winter semester (October).

Dates of terms

Winter semester: mid October until mid February (exception: first semester starts on October 1st)

Summer semester: beginning of May  until the first week of August.

First step: Online Application

The online application does not substitute the written application, but it helps to determine whether you are eligible to apply or not. Therefore, we recommend that you submit the online application first and only send your complete paper application by mail if invited to do so by us.

Second step: Full Fledged Written Application

Please, fill in the application form (Download Written Application Form) and enclose the following documents:

  • Previous education certificates (officially authenticated copies). Certificates and academic transcripts in languages other than English or German must be officially translated into German or English.
  • TOEFL certificate (paper-based 600 points, computer-based 250 points, internet based 100 points, IELTS band 7; TOEFL code number 8692)
  • Detailed curriculum vitae
  • A motivation letter explaining why you chose to apply for admission to the Masters Program (Download Guideline for Motivation Letter )
  • Two letters of recommendation from university professor(s) or employment supervisor(s) based on original MEG Referee Questionnaire. (Download Referees Questionnaire)
