Team building weekend 2009

MEG Intercultural Team-building Weekend 2009

As in previous year, this years MEG class had the opportunity to explore the dynamics of multi-cultural teams, with a professional team-builder from SPICE consulting from Dec 12-13, 2009.  An added bonus this year: the workshop was held in the Faculty’s seminar house on the Schauinsland Mountain in the Black Forest, and included an overnight stay fully catered with traditional German food.  The group explored their cultural differences and similarities, and learned to work on challenging tasks (sometimes even blindfolded!) in a fun and exploratory fashion as a group. Exercises were held both indoors as well as outside in the fresh snow – which was also the first time several of the students had ever seen snow in real life!  The event was a great success, with all participants claiming it taught them a lot, and brought their group even closer together.  It was a real bonus for learning to work and play in intercultural teams, which the students can apply during the course of their studies, as well as in their professional lives beyond.  All agreed this event needs to continued annually.
