MEG Intercultural Team-building Weekend 2009

As in previous year, this years MEG class had the opportunity to explore the dynamics of multi-cultural teams, with a professional team-builder from SPICE consulting from Dec 12-13, 2009.  An added bonus this year: the workshop was held in the Faculty’s seminar house on the Schauinsland Mountain in the Black Forest, and included an overnight stay fully catered with traditional German food.  Read more and see pictures...

 

DAAD prize goes to MEG student

Leonora Lorena, a MEG student from Portugal, was awarded the DAAD prize for excellent achievement of international students.  This prize, which is endowed with a 1000 Euro, is awarded once a year to an international student who not only demonstrates excellent academic achievement, but is also exemplary in his/her commitment to society and intercultural activities. Guest Lecture by Dr. Ulrich Hoffmann UNCTAD

The head of UNCTAD's Trade and Sustainable Development Section, Dr. Ulrich Hoffmann, joined the MEG program for a guest lecture.  He presented on "The Current Economic Crisis and Its Effects on Sustainable Structural Change in Economy and Trade". Looking for input from MEG students and attending guests was important to Dr. Hoffmann: "We need the cross-fertilization between universities and organizations such as UNCTAD", he explained.  A background article and his presentation can be downloaded for personal use and feedback to our guest lecturer.
